Vintage Fluevog Exhibit at Firefly

Long-time readers may recall that I have a serious shoe addiction that keeps between 20 and 30 pairs of shoes in active rotation.  I know some of you ladies out there scoff at such measly numbers, but I don’t personally know another guy with that many shoes.  Plus, I have a thing for funky shoes that [...]

The Return of Captial City Grocery

There have been dozens of questions about the future of Capital City Grocery since their closing a little while back, and I’d like to thank Crash Gregg of the Raleigh Downtowner for his use of this story. Capital City will in fact be opening back up with quite a few changes and I encourage [...]

Cherry Modern Design Now Open

TTC Charlotte’s To Close End of January

Longtime local favorite Charlotte’s has decided to pull the plug on their Triangle Town Center location and will close at the end of this month. Of course, this should worry no one as their two
other area stores will continue to feed any and all jewelry and gift addictions in Raleigh.

Personally, I am not too [...]

Scope Shop Out of This World

We love finding local stores catering to niches. That’s why it was so interesting to run across the Big Bang Astronomy Shop on Duraleigh Road (Next to Salsa Fresh). The store caters to astronomy clubs as well as beginners. They stock a lot of scopes, especially by Meade, and various accessories.

European Village Coming To North Raleigh

Another North Hills-ish shopping center is in the works, this time in North Raleigh on Falls of the Neuse Road at Honeycutt.  As you know, we here at Raleighing are certainly excited about smart development in Raleigh and on some level are proponents of the success of capitalism in our area.
So, let me first [...]
