Over the past week, Pitchfork.com has been counting down the top 500 songs of the 2000s. Their list is an interesting mix of indie and mainstream offerings with a real focus on the individual track rather than the album of which it is a part. Upon logging into Lala.com today, I was happy to see that they have assembled playlists, 50 tracks each, which cover the entire top 500. As always on Lala, you can listen to each track once for free. They are also running a $0.50 MP3 special on many of the tracks if you’d like to buy any of them to listen more than once.
