Pitchfork Top 500 Songs of the 2000s on Lala.com

p2k-landing-headerOver the past week, Pitchfork.com has been counting down the top 500 songs of the 2000s. Their list is an interesting mix of indie and mainstream offerings with a real focus on the individual track rather than the album of which it is a part. Upon logging into Lala.com today, I was happy to see that they have assembled playlists, 50 tracks each, which cover the entire top 500. As always on Lala, you can listen to each track once for free. They are also running a $0.50 MP3 special on many of the tracks if you’d like to buy any of them to listen more than once.

All of playlists are available at this link and I’ve included the playlist for the top 50 below.  Enjoy!

Been going to Pitchfork for years, but I always find their lists pretty crappy and this one is no exception.

The best list for me to discover new music has been the end of year best music you haven't heard or something like that from the Onion. Discovered The Kingdom that way.

Some tracks from them on Daytrotter
