Let’s Take a Break, K?

Time for us to take a little break.  Unfortunately, Raleighing’s progress since the changes back in January just haven’t gone the way I had hoped.  Plus, other endeavors have me completely wrapped up and completely happy at the moment.  The ugliness on this site has progressed to a point that my unavailability has left me unable to counteract.

Not sure what the future holds at this point, but I simply need to at least temporarily remove this storm cloud which has been hanging over my head for the past several months…

Thanks for your readership.  Check back every now and then to see if I give it another go.  Current Raleighing writers, feel free to post comments here if you want to redirect folks to other places to see your writings.

Keep Raleighing,

Chris

So long Tar Hole! Your views were always one-sided and this is what you get.

I enjoyed reading this site. Raleigh is seeing so much change and it is an exciting time to live in the metro area. Of course as a Cary-dweller I did have to overlook some of the negativity directed our way. Still, I am sorry to see this blog die.

This is pretty much the only site where you could find real, legit information on development and growth in Raleigh. (This is my first post here by the way, but I’ve been reading this site since I moved to the North Hills neighborhood last summer.)
Dana actually went to the meetings and discussions where official plans were brought up and criticized by the townspeople. I really miss reading those articles because most people/blogs/websites just speculate whereas Dana thoroughly researched before writing.
I’ve noticed that after the influx of new writers here, Dana’s method has been overlooked and most of the writers have just been putting up what they see with their own eyes and not actually researching the topics. I’d like to see the writers sit down and have a talk with the developers of new buildings/projects instead of just typing whatever comes to mind. That’s what the responses are for, not the articles.
Anyway, I’m truly disappointed to see this site go away but hopefully we’ll have another outlet soon where excited newcomers and devoted Raleighites can read about what’s actually happening on a day-to-day basis in this rapidly growing area of the country.

Hey – I’ll miss the Raleighing, but I found a site that many of the Raleighing readers may now be interested in: http://www.raleighfreepress.com
It’s a start-up site with lots of potential – Hope to be able to get as much entertainment out of the comments over there as I have enjoyed here!

C’mon, how hard is it to keep up a blog, (1 hour a week maybe?) just let it roll baby. Let people post new content, filter the bad ones at your discretion, advertise (make some freaking money, hey it’s for the local economy, right?). You’ve got a good thing going here.

I’ve said some kind of harsh things here in the past, but I would never disrespect the effort that it must have taken to keep this site or others like it going. Put one up yourself if it’s so easy.

Another shameless plug for a Raleigh-centered blog: Raleighphilosociety.blogspot.com . It’s more issues-oriented than retail and openings-oriented, but I think you will enjoy it.

Raleighing may be trademarked but it is not a fully registered trademark. Anyone with cruel intent could take it away if your not careful.

Wow, that joker has really started to create his own page. He can’t even think of his own name. Pretty childish on his part. I’ll be sure to comment on his site when it’s operational.

Yeah, that promo video was pretty tight. The only thing missing was the shot of one of the 1000 Applebees in the area.

Has anyone tried the Cupcake Shoppe on Glenwood South? It opened in July 07 and I was looking forward to the new addition to that area. It adds a unique twist to the old fashioned bakery. I have visited on three occasions and found the cupcakes to be dry with overly sweet icing each time. I certainly want the shop to succeed and I will try again.

I’ve really enjoy http://www.raleighrestaurantreview.com to keep up to date with restaurants around the area. It looks like it’s new, but I like the reviews.
