Cherry Modern Design Now Open

Cherry Modern DesignCherry Modern Design has opened their new showroom location in Cameron Village. It is a welcome addition that fills the long vacant space previously occupied by Bath and Body Works.

Cherry is a full service home furnishings and accessories store that specializes in modern Italian furniture, but has a large array of accents to give your home a modern makeover as well. You can find rugs, light fixtures, unique hand blown glass pieces, tableware, barware, and numerous other home accessories as well.

Some well known brands at Cherry include Rosenthal tableware and serving pieces, Nambi metalware, and Michael Graves designed pieces. For many of the lines, the store is the only authorized retailer in the state.

Cherry is the brainchild and namesake of Louis Cherry and his wife Ann Marie Baum. The husband and wife team saw a real void in the Triangle for contemporary and modern design and decided to do something about it. The day to day operation of the store is directed by Mrs. Baum. With her background in interior design and retail management, she is perfectly suited to help all their clients find the perfect look for their homes.

Cherry is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. It is open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A grand opening celebration is planned for late April.

When Cherry was on Glenwood, it was a fun store to walk in to browse the interesting furniture. I’d never buy anything, because it seemed awfully expensive, but still fun to look at.
Hopefully they will be successful in CV. Good to have that empty space filled.

I think Cherry Modern will be a much better fit in Cameron Village than on Glenwood. Every time I passed by the old location, I was either in gym clothes or on the way to dinner – not good times to browse!
Anybody know what will fill the old location?

I’ve started seeing signs for Cherry 306 to convert the entire building into a park. ;^).

For all of the criticism of Sue Stock, she does report in the paper once a week and she does update her blog on occasion. This post about Cherry is two weeks old. Things certainly seemed to have lost steam here at Raleighing. I’m assuming the idea of having correspondents hasn’t panned out?
