Running With Scissors, featuring Raleigh’s Evan Rachael Wood, begins its second week in national theaters today. The pain-inducing movie starring Annette Bening, Brian Cox, Alec Baldwin, and Joseph Fiennes (among others) centers around a boy in a dysfunctional family being turned over to a therapist’s own dysfunctional family. The movie only received a 5.1 rating from cin-o-matic’s sources and 1.5 stars in the News & Observer.
Wood, the daughter of Theatre In The Park’s Ira David Wood, III, has now been in 12 American feature films and has many more in the pipeline. Next year she’ll star in King of California with Michael Douglas (An unstable dad who after getting out of a mental institution
tries to convince his daughter that there’s Spanish gold buried
somewhere under suburbia) and In Bloom with Uma Thurman.
