Cinelli’s Open At North Hills

Cinelli_logo
Cinelli’s is finally open in the former site of Andy’s Pizza in North Hills. The locally-owned Italian fast casual restaurant serves great pizza (according to many Raleighing readers) and many italian dishes.

The restaurant has locations in Durham (Bull City Market), Cary (Shoppes of Kildaire), Apex (Haddon Hall Commons), and Wakefield (Wakefield Commons). They are not affiliated with the Six Forks Rd. Ristorante Cinelli.

According to their lunch menu, the restuarant serves lunch until 3pm Monday-Friday. The dinner menu mentions that they will have home delivery service soon.

I never knew that Cinelli’s was unaffiliated with Cinelli’s Ristorante before reading this post. I’ll add that Cinelli’s Ristorante on Six Forks is also a gret place for dinner.

Cinelli’s Pizzeria is affiliated with Ristorante Cinelli last I knew… Heck, it even lists them together on their website (http://cinellis-nc.com/). Maybe things have changed but I was under the impression that they opened the Celebration restaurant in order to provide a more upscale version of the Pizzeria. I thought the Ristorante was great but would rather spend that money at Caffe Luna.
The Pizzerias are outstanding and probably the best combination of value, consistency, and taste in the Triangle for Italian restaurants. I also am a big fan of Stromboli’s Express though (just opened a new place at Edward’s Mill and Duraleigh, first was on Spring Forest). Both are Italian owned and operated so you can’t go wrong.

My wife and I have been to the Stromboli’s on Spring Forest a couple of times now, and every single time received the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had.
The first time, we waited 90 MINUTES and finally left without ever receiving our food. True, it was during their opening week, but still, an hour and a half.
The second time, we figured there had been enough time passed that they had worked the kinks out. Imagine our surprise when it still took 30 minutes just to receive our appetizer, and that they had cut their portions on all appetizers and entrees in HALF since we last went.
Stromboli’s is the perfect example of a restaurant that could be something really exceptional to the Raleigh area, but it’s almost like their afraid to do anything with the interior feel of the place, or with the bad service.

Nice place to eat – love their pizza. Best lasagna though?…. my vote goes to The Point at 5-points for their self-proclaimed “best lasagna in Raleigh”.

We were there on Saturday too. Not real kid friendly, although they really tried. Service was iffy. I will give them a couple more attempts.
Pizza was not in my top 5 ever but sure beats Domino’s. My understanding is they will soon be delivering.
My wife got a Calzone and really liked the sauce. They also brought our SCREAMNING kids some yummy bread. I liked it, and it kept the kids from screaming for about 20 seconds. (which is good)
Overall I give it a, “Worth another try”. I really think our kids just made the entire experience difficult for everyone in the restaruant!

I also have tried the new Cinelli’s in North Hills. The first time was takeout which was exceptional the second was dine in which was a little more rocky.
Our server was brand spankin new so that would explain the service, which was very slow.
The food was terrific and I am thrilled that they have finally opened. I am sure things will improve once they have been opened for a month or so.

I dined at the North Hills location this weekend with my mother and little sister. We ate a 2:00pm lunch. The food was great, but the service was severely lacking. When our server finally decided to bring the check (after we waited patiently, then searched for him, and finally asked another waiter to let him know we were finished), we were overcharged for two of the three meals. After being in the restaurant business, I knew that these types of things are usually errors, so I asked the waiter why there was a difference in price. He sarcastically replied that the prices had been changed in the computer and on the togo menus, but that they were still waiting on the new dine-in menus. Then, when I asked why he had not notified us of the change when we ordered, he got a major attitude. It is difficult to fully describe the experience that my family and I had this weekend, but I can assure you that I will not be returning. Their food was very good (one of the best Chicken Parm subs I have had in a long time), but nothing is worth that type of service. And it was apparent that this waiter was not new. Service such as this is simply inexcusable!!!

I’ve been to the Cinelli’s in Cary several time. The food is average, the pizza is slightly above average but the service is generally poor. Our last adventure there was abysmal; after waiting 45 minutes for our dinner (and no bread) I finally tracked down our waitress who left, came back ten minutes later and said “they’re making your pizza now”. Obviously someone screwed up something somewhere but we never got an explanation nor an apology from her or the manager. They obviously just don’t give a crap. I’m never going back.

I went to Cinelli’s in North Hills a while back with some friends. After waiting forever for the food, a little surprise was found in my friends plate. There was a steel nut deep inside the food. Oh yeah, let me repeat that. Now, to clearify, this wasn’t a “nut” that grows out of the ground, this was in fact a STEEL NUT. My friend took a bite and heard something “different” and to her surprise found this metal object. This steel nut didn’t just happen to somehow “fall” in because it was found to be deep inside some pasta and under all of the sauce. The waiter had no clue to what had happened and said that most of the plates are precooked and that they’re taken out of a freezer and heated. So after that shocker, the waiter/manager would only take that plate off the bill and said “sorry.” So with that, Cinelli’s will never see 4 more faces again.

I frequent the North Hills Cinelli’s and love the facelift! The Cinelli’s have brought in some new management that has made the place great. Now, the comments before mine are old so I don’t think they are on point.
The pizza blows anyone in Raleigh away. As far as the lasagna, it is a fat kids dream come true. Wines by the glass are fairly priced with a great selection by the bottle.
I would recommed Cinelli’s to anyone, including my mother!
    Ciao!
