Lincoln
After the installation of a new climate control system and a balcony, downtown’s Lincoln Theatre will reopen tonight and promises an fantastic Fall lineup. Tonight’s show features The Walkmen. Opening are Bobby Bare, and Nathan Asher and The Infantry.

There are some great tribute bands coming, but also some great creative folks, too. The Rev. Horton Heat, Mason Jennings, Jay Clifford (from Jump Little Children), Cartel, David Allen Coe, Shawn Colvin (with Brandi Carlisle), and Hank Williams, III are among others on the schedule for the next couple of months.

We were just up there and it didn’t seem like the balcony had seats – but they had it blocked off so you couldn’t go up there.

About time… Lincoln has generally had one of the best lineups in the region, (excluding the Pour House). Does anyone remember the Lake Boone Country Club (home to my first real Raleighing “underage” music experience)??

Many fond partying memories at the LBCC! Saw Hootie play there a few times. And remember going on New Year’s Eve and seeing Cream of Soul. Loved that place.

went to the show last night… unfortunately it was sponsored by camel and they were giving away cigarettes… i wish they’d upgraded their ventilation system because it was pretty smoky… also, you’d think they would have renovated the bar and/or the baths…. its basically the same place as before, with a v.i.p. balcony.
