This Friday from 6pm – 10pm, Designbox will open a show entitled "Introducing Spark Con!" which will premiere the Spark Con Poster Series by 15 local artists tasked to interpret a "spark."
For those of you who haven’t heard yet, Spark Con is an upcoming conference in Raleigh which is focused on gathering creative minds and big thinkers in the area to brainstorm on ideas and ways to give the Triangle an identity which many think it lacks. Of course, we at Raleighing are doing everything we can to help Raleigh develop and define an identity, but we are definitely behind any efforts to give us some help! 
If you’re interested in finding out more about the conference, come to the art opening on Friday where they will be happy to tell you anything you need to know. Plus, you’ll be able to register for the conference right then and there if you so desire.

One of the really interesting things about the conference is that it will result in a document called the "Spark Con Comment" which will outline a vision for community leaders and residents of the area. The coolest thing about this is that it will be made available in book format through the amazing efforts (and technology) of my new employer, Lulu.com. I have been here a month and I am still truly amazed at what this company does. Seriously. I’ll be sure to post all about it sometime soon.
