For the second year in a row, Aretha Franklin has cancelled her show at Cary’s Booth Amphitheater. This year’s excuse is "scheduling conflicts" while last year she opted for a "day off". The amphitheatre is thankfully not rescheduling the August 26 concert and will refund ticketholders.
I first received an email on May 2 about the concert, but I know that Pollstar had it listed several weeks before that. So apparently an artist whose last hit was released 19 years ago has a schedule that is too tight to manage within a 100+ day window. Yeah, right. I, for one, am glad we’re breaking this chain of fools.
