The World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA) is hoping to expand into Raleigh this Spring. Registration to play lasts through March 15th. Here is some more info from Corey:
- The first Raleigh Division (NC Capital Division) is now open for registration. This division will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6-9PM at Fletcher Park beginning April 1st and registration is NOW OPEN! Your WAKA representative for this division will be Rami Essaid rami@kickball.com. The field location is on St Mary’s St in downtown Raleigh across from Broughton High School.
- The Durham Division (NC Triangle Division) will open within the week for registration. This division will play on Wednesday and Sunday between 6-9PM at Githen’s Middle School beginning April 1st and registration is NOW OPEN! Your WAKA representative for this division will be Rami Essaid rami@kickball.com . This is the same location as last year’s field.
Registration will close on Wednesday, March 15th or whenever the division is full. Please remember that registration operates on a first come, first serve basis! So, get your teams together and register as soon as you can! Here is how to register:
- Click on the "Register" link at www.kickball.com (on the main menu on the left), then click the big "Register Today" button which will take you to a login screen. If you are a returning player it is easier and best to use your previous login info and just log in. If you are a new player choose the big "New Player" button and follow the steps to create your account.
- Once logged in click the blue "<https://www.kickball.com
/mywaka/division_search.php> Register for another division ==>" link - From this point you can click the "<https://www.kickball.com
/mywaka/select_division_form .php> Select your division from a map" option OR enter any amount of info into the search fields to bring up a list of divisions (for instance in the "Division or Event Name" field type "Capital" and then hit search to bring up the NC Capital Division). Next choose the division in which you want to play. - At this point you need to select a registration option according to how you would like to register (**** If you would like to be on someone else’s team make sure to register under the same group name!)
- Follow the remaining registration steps either registering individually, creating a group, or selecting an existing group. Choose to accept the waiver.
- At WAKA Store choose any additional items you’d like to purchase (one team shirt is included with registration fee) and click on "Checkout" at the bottom. Add or verify address and enter credit card info. Confirm and you are finished!
Make sure your friends know your group/team name so they know what team to select when they register. If you have further questions regarding registration, please use the contact email on the respective division page. The fee includes all equipment, WAKA team t-shirt for each player, actual fields/games, social organization, personal WAKA player cards, funds for division parties, specials/discounts at the sponsor restaurant/bar, other general operation costs, and most importantly, the making new friends part is priceless!
