Apex Bennigan’s Closes

The Apex location of Bennigan’s apparently closed recently. This location is one of Raleigh’s strangest restaurant stories in recent memory. Just as the North Hills and Capital Blvd locations closed about a year ago, Bennigan’s opened a brand new location in Apex with horrible frontage. While it’s no suprise that the location ultimately didn’t survive, it is probably more of a surprise that it ever opened.

    Benningan’s seems to be one of those chains that doesn’t really have a following. I’ve never met anyone who raves about Benningan’s.
    I am surprised the Apex location closed so soon after opening (a year?). Like you, I can’t figure out why it was placed so far back from 64.

    technically, this location is in the town of cary. cary “owns” the northeast corner of the lake pine/64 intersection, except that the closest frontage to 64 is not cary (i have no idea why). everything else (wendys, the kroger shopping center, gole’s furniture) is apex.
    i’ve heard the service wasn’t too hot, that probably added to the problems.

    The one on the corner of Cary Parkway and Hwy 54 in Cary/Morrisville seems to have closed too and it wasn’t even open a year. I wonder if it is also a health inspection issue.
